星期六把车给撞了，貌似很严重，算算损失吧，deductible就是750，以后的保险半年涨个200，一年就是400，算下来N年的话就是750＋N×400，suppose N＝2即使只考虑两年的话，总损失大概在$1600的样子！足够买两台笔记本了！一万多人民币就一瞬间撞飞掉了！

 

不仅如此，修车要等两周多，正好考试完了放假了，没有车哪里也去不了，只有蹲家里……

 

祸不单行，昨天打开邮箱，看到一封信，还以为是什么rebate寄到了，拆开一看，晕，说我在一周前开车上了收费路toll road，没有交钱，而且还上了两次！罚金是100多刀！无语了，开车才两周的样子，车祸也遇上了，罚单也吃了，没想到人生这么快就完整了……

 

以为霉运就完了？NO！星期一去albertson买东西，结帐的时候发现信用卡丢了！！！我在中国的时候那么久都没有丢过重要的东西（虽然几次差点丢），刚拿到信用卡一个多月就丢了……

 

生活就是这样在你想都想不到的时候突然把困难和麻烦撮在一堆扔给你，开始的时候我们把它叫做考验，让一个人成长、成熟，再后来，后来我们就只管它叫沧桑了。

How I wish the whole nightmare didn't happen!!!  But it actually truely inevitably did happen, which indeed threw me into the hell of depression and sadness.  I wish I could travel to the time before it happened to avoid it, but I JUST CAN'T!

 

The accident happened as I followed my GPS's instruction to keep in the right lane which lead me to an expected exit off Newport Coast Dr.  The exit road is a ramp for 73NB Hwy whose shape was like a circle.  I didn't expect the curve of the ramp was so sharp, and apparently I couldn't slow my speed down enough to make this sharp turn when I realized it.  Subsequently the worst thing happened, the left front of my car hit the left roadside with a speed of like 30m/h maybe, damn!  First car accident in my whole life(hope it will be the last one!) came true!!!

 

Then I pulled it over and got out of my car to inspect the damage.  There were some obvious dents and scratches which seemed not to be severe damage -- The solidness of Ford Taurus really shocked me, as I originally thought the left front might get ruined!!!  Then I made calls to my girlfriend Siwen and to my roommie Yuanfeng, and Yuanfeng told me to drive back if I could.  Then I managed to start the car, and drove it a few yards ahead and realized something was really severely damaged in the front wheel driving system.  First, the left wheel had the rim of its alloy frame broken, Second, the the direction that left wheel faced was obviously deviated from its normal direction, which could be easily observed by comparision of another undamaged wheel.  Even worse, I guess there might be some problem with the transaxle.

 

Worst of all, my cell was running out of battery just at that moment!  All my communication was cut off when I was counting on it to get help from my friends.  I was feeling so helpless, so scared, depressed as well as regretful.  It was getting dark and freezing, and all I could do was getting into my broken car to enjoy the flavor of car accident!  It's the helplessness and loneliness that truly make one scared, fearful and desperate, as I experienced.   However, as a matter of fact, in order to kill the time, I actually solve rest of problems in my Classical Mechanics homework when I was waiting inside my car.

 

Fortunately I found a toll station in front of me which allowed cars to go through only after they paid the toll.  So I decided to wait there to look for help.  Some nice drivers offered my the chance to make a call to Siwen, but it's hard to describe where I was for them to find me.  Finally, I met this super nice super kindhearted lady Mrs. Sanaa who was driving her whole family.  She stopped to help me make calls to my friends, and helped me figure out where I was.  As my cell phone was down, she decided to stay with me until my friends came.  Then she called the AAA and required a free towing for me!  In total, she spent almost two hours in helping me!  I don't know how to express my gratitude for her as I am so moved and grateful!  I sincerely thank her, and thank all the other friends who helped me.  It's the help from others that make my life in this world much easier and hopeful.  I hereby swear to do all I can to help others in trouble like me today, as to return to favor of the kind lady, as I understand how people need help when they are stuck in trouble.

 

I wish all of us will learn my lesson to drive more carefully, and try to help each other as possible as we can.
